Madanshi Creates ("we", "us" or "our") is a sole proprietorship owned by Ayushi Dass, based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, selling anti-tarnish jewellery across India.

To send you an order we need a few details from you, and we think you should know exactly what those are, where they go, and how long we keep them. This page explains all of that in plain terms. If anything here is unclear, or you want to know what we hold about you, just ask and we will tell you.

By using our website or placing an order, you agree to what is described here.

1. What we collect

What you give us

Contact details: your name, phone number and email address.
Order details: billing address, delivery address, pincode, items ordered and order value.
Payment confirmation: confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, plus the last four digits of the card or the UPI reference. We never see or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net banking credentials.
Account details: if you create an account, your name, email address and phone number. Signing in works through a one time code sent to you, so we do not ask for or store a password.
Anything you send us: what you write when you contact us by email, WhatsApp, phone or Instagram, including photographs and videos you send when raising a claim.

What is collected automatically

When you browse the site we may collect your IP address, an approximate location from it, your device and browser type, the pages you viewed, how long you stayed, and where you arrived from. This happens through cookies, covered in section 4.

What comes from elsewhere

We receive information about you from the services that keep the business running: our website platform, our payment gateway, our courier aggregator, and advertising platforms where you have interacted with our ads.

2. What we use it for

Processing and fulfilling your order, arranging delivery and keeping you updated.
Answering your questions and handling returns, replacements and refunds.
Checking claims about damaged, incorrect or missing items.
Preventing and investigating fraud, such as repeated false claims or fake orders.
Keeping our records for tax and accounting.
Sending you news about new collections and offers, if you have opted in.
Improving our products, website and service.
Meeting our legal obligations.

We do this because it is needed to fulfil your order, because you have given us permission (for marketing messages, for example), or because the law requires it.

3. Who else sees it

We do not sell your personal information.

We share only what is needed, with these recipients:

We may also disclose information where the law, a court or a government authority requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or someone's safety.

If the business is ever sold or transferred, customer information would move with it.

4. Cookies

Our site uses cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, measure traffic and show you relevant ads elsewhere.

Most browsers accept cookies by default, and you can block or delete them in your browser settings. Do note that the cart and checkout may stop working properly if you block them.

5. How long we keep it

Order and payment records: as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires, currently up to eight years from the end of the relevant financial year.
Account information: for as long as your account is active.
Marketing contact details: until you unsubscribe.
Customer service messages, including claim photographs and videos: up to two years, so we have a record of how a claim was resolved.

After that we delete it, or strip out the details that identify you.

6. Keeping it safe

Access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to run the business. We use established service providers, and we never store card or UPI credentials ourselves.

No system is completely secure, so please do not send us card numbers, UPI PINs or OTPs by email, WhatsApp or Instagram. We will never ask you for any of them. If someone contacts you claiming to be from Madanshi and asks for an OTP or payment details, do not share it, and please tell us so we can warn others.

7. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:

Show you a summary of what we hold about you and who we have shared it with;
Correct or update anything inaccurate, incomplete or out of date;
Erase your personal information, unless we are required to keep it for legal or accounting reasons;
Stop using information you had previously consented to, such as marketing messages;
Recognise a nominee who can exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to act;
Look into a complaint, which you can escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if our answer does not satisfy you.

Email madanshi398@gmail.com with your order ID or registered email address and we will take it from there. We may need to confirm it is really you before we act, and we will reply within the time the law allows.

You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in any of them, or by messaging us. You will still get updates about orders you have placed.

Exercising any of these rights will never affect the service you get from us.

8. Children

Our products are not aimed at children, and the site is not intended for anyone under 18 to use on their own. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we never use children's data for advertising or tracking.

Where a piece is being bought for someone under 18, the order should be placed by a parent or guardian in their own name and details, as set out in our Terms of Service.

If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.

9. Links to other sites

Our website and social pages link out to payment pages, courier tracking and social platforms. We do not control those sites and cannot answer for how they handle your information, so do have a look at their policies.

10. Where your information is stored

We are based in India and store information here. Some of the services we rely on run servers abroad. Where information moves outside India, we take reasonable steps to see that it is handled in line with this policy and the law.
